Sophie has three main kinds of resources defined by their scope:

• Remote - the resource in the Sophie server or anywhere on the Internet

• Local - link to somewhere; for example, a DVD associated with a desktop's workspace

• Embedded - local for the user's current book

• Scope indication is given for each resource in listings.
